AUDIOVISUAL AND CULTURE
Authors in the music sector need not only a supportive legislative environment and management societies that effectively protect their interests, but also an enabling Community and international cultural environment in which the specific characteristics of the different sectors of creative output are recognised. Increasing trade globalization has made cultural diversity a key issue for authors. They are therefore directly affected by such debates as that on the revision of the TWF Directive, the audio-visual services negotiations in the WTO and the UNESCO Convention.
